I'm on the Va coast, so I've been alternating between "It's not as bad as they say," to "OMG! We're all going to die!" So trying to do last minute preperations helps me from going crazy with the latter type of thought.

I'm in northeast Baltimore, in a good zone (flooding wise) but I don't know what I'd do if I were onthe coast...good luck, and God bless my friend.

Has anyone contemplated the name "Sandy", by the way!

Looks like things got worse overnight. News is saying an 11 foot storm surge is possible. Be glad for your 15th floor apartment. Stay safe.

My older sister's name was Sandra and we almost always called her Sandy. You could say she was like a hurricane at times. ;)

Yeah, I figured we'd make it through here where I live in Va more or less all right because we got through Isobel and Irene fairly well (this time we didn't even lose any trees in my neighborhood) with minor backyard flooding each time (and late in the game this time), but the damage in NY and NJ... Wow, just wow.

Never lost power but my internet/cable was spotty for the last two days. Parents and other assorted relatives who live out in the sticks weren't so lucky according to PPL they won't have electric till the weekend. Got a house full of people enjoying working lights and hot water for the first time in days woo hoo I'm popular hahaha.....
