Canadian internet about to become history...

No political or religious topics please. Otherwise, anything goes, as long as we treat each other with respect.

In this case, the CRTC wanted to eliminate unlimited internet access and force usage-based fees, but the government stepped in, and said that they would overturn that decision if they went through with it. So, the government is on our side! :D

So the CRTC is some kind of non-governmental regulatory agency? I'm a little confused.

Yes it is, the problem with the CRTC though is that its controlled by the very people its supposed to be Regulating, thus making it very corrupt.

That would explain a few things. 8-)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

You didn't answer that question directly, but me?

I ain't got a problem with that.

I'm not saying that they get to eat out all the time. But, ya know, I can eat dinner at home for under a buck and I can't even cook.

The human race is really not so smart...or maybe just needs to grow a heart.

We oughta be able to swing that much...food, just food...for everyone!

(Nessie glances at her pay stub...HOLY CRAP!!!)

The Big Bad Government can waltz in and just take this mess over for all I care.

The government didn't eat all that money I'm not getting. A private business, a non-government entity, took that money from me. If I only had my taxes to pay, I'd be doing pretty good, actually!

And at such time as I try to use the services I'm buying from them, they will instantly look for reasons NOT to provide me with what I bought. I can try to look for a different insurance company, but really...they're all about the same.

What I really need is a new job, one where they pony up for a bigger share of this...but I've been looking for a very long time for exactly this and there are very few jobs doing what I do any more that pay anything liveable.

If I had children, the nightmare would be complete. I have one co-worker who, if she insures her family at this workplace not only receives no paycheck but actually OWES money.

Yup. We are.

Stay where you're at. Stay well.

While I am in favor of free speech, and the world should have both health care and feedom of speech...count me in with the folks who think affordable medical care is much more important than the right to download videos...even if the those videos are mine!
