Now, finally, a hockey game that was worth watching ....

LA wins 1-0 , a well earned shutout; Quick was nothing less than fantastic for his second shutout of the playoffs, and Dustin Brown? Not only does he score the winning goal (his 4th now) but he delivered probably the best hit of the playoffs on Henrik Sedin. And this was no cheapshot, no high stick or elbows; just an old-fashioned finish your check hit. I've seen worse, for guys trying to swim off the ice, but this was pretty bad, since Sedin was steamrollered right at his own bench and had trouble finding the boards

The end result is LA up 3-0 in the series, as the curse of the Presidents Trophy continues....

Bruins score late in a tight checking game to edge Washington 4-3. Still a relatively mild mannered series compared to others, but its getting there. Boston leads series 2-1

Rangers earn a 1-0 shutout to also go ahead 2-1 in their series. Most of the nastiness from last game shelved, but not all. The Team Canada Girls were honoured at the start of the game, and Callahan couldn't even get through a ceremonial faceoff without a butt-end to chin of Spezza 'accidentally' as he skated off; come on, man, show some bloody class at least...

No class in NY, only Tortorella. He probably told Callahan to do it. If it was the other way around Tort would have whined and cried through the whole press conference about it.

Interesting night, lot of good stuff, lot of bad

Nashville wins 3-1 to push Detroit to the brink ahead 3-1 in the series; they can close things out at home on Friday night. Rinne was great in net, stopping 40 shots.

Florida went down 3-0 again in the first , have Jose Theodore chased (3 goals on 6 shots), but then proceeded to storm back, scoring 3 goals on 12 shots on Brodeur, chasing HIM. Florida completed the comeback, with a 4-3 final to take a 2-1 series lead

Phoenix just scored in OT to win 3-2, to take a 2-1 lead in their series. This game will be overshadowed however, due to Raffi Torres up to his old antics, with a crushing charging major non-call on Marion Hossa which just looked terrible. He was down on the ice after the hit as well as bouncing his head off the ice. Was taken off in a stretcher and directly to hospital. Latest report is that he has been released, but what his status will be for Game 4, no idea as yet.

It should be noted that this, was 1 year to the day this asshole took out Brent Seabrooke of the Hawks in a similar play. No call then either. If this isn't 10 games, you may as well tear up the goddamned rulebook.

Not certain, but might be the worst playoff loss ever for Phily; 10-3 final score for Pitt. Guess gonna be at least game 5. Think this will leave a mark though...

Going to OT in Ottawa, left coast just getting underway

2238 EST Update : 2:42 into OT, Ottawa scores to win 3-2 and even the series 2-2.

Vancouver staves off elimination with a 3-1 victory. Daniel Sedin returned to the lineup and assisted on one goal. Series still lead by LA 3-1, game 5 goes Sat in Vancouver. Right now there is the usual gigglefest from the Vancouver bandwagon, but really it is simple. How to screw up the Sedin Sisters? Check the shit out of them, and bang them around. Make them, and their pals lose the bubble -- and you do it within the rules. You don't need to kill them; just irritate them. They don't handle that well

Who is more likely to come back from 3-0: Pittsburg or Vancouver? I say Pittsburg. The hate in that series makes any lead volatile. I don't think Vancouver will come all the way back, although they might force a game 6 or 7.
