My source tells me that the identity of the new Doctor will be announced on Sunday at seven pm.

Actually, my source and I were sitting outside a pub earlier today, and half-way down the first pint he tweeted this information to the world (he is one of those who seems to be surgically attached to his mobile phone). By the time we were halfway down the second pint, he'd received a coruscating e-mail from the Beeb, and had deleted the tweet. The world moves damn fast these days.

Anyway. If my source is right, the new Doctor will either be PC or RK.

Ah - ha!

Be interesting to finally see who the next Doctor is. A number of names have been flying in the last few days.

And to make things even more interesting, John Hurt plays a past version of the Doctor between the "8'th" Doctor, Paul McGann, and the "9'th" Doctor, Christopher Eccleston!

We'll see if that's really true and how that works. Because IMO that only really works if 8.5 (if that is who Hurt is playing) regenerates into 9 at the end and that only works if Eccleston's been lying through his teeth the whole time about not returning and has indeed filmed something for the 50th anniversary special.

I'm afraid my source is tight-lipped on that one. Spoilers.

Indeed. The other name in the frame was Rory Kinnear.

I am glad to see something positive come from that troubled nation after all the spam scams and modern sea pirate stories.
