Have been looking for a work truck in my price range to start a business with, and ran across this critter. '99 Isuzu NPR HD. Turbodiesel, only 66k miles. Ugly little thing, but if I buy it it will be perfect for my needs. Haul firewood (rack body is a dump), haul materials, tow rented equipment, etc. Not 4WD, but without the pickup fenders in the way I could just keep a set of double chains on board- there are some cool tricks for mounting chains, and I happen to know them.

My only worry would be the auto trans, that tends to be the weak point on bigger trucks like this. Pull the dip stick and see what the fluid looks like.

Allow me to suggest that the "99" suggests a very significant risk. The vehicle is already 17 years old, at least! That 66k miles could well be 166k or even 266k. Even if the 66k is accurate you need to be prepared on very short notice to find a replacement or the business itself could be at risk.

And the turbo diesel part scares me. I'm always suspicious of anything I couldn't fix myself. While my little rigs won't haul that much firewood they do well for likely loads and they've both been able to keep both running into old age without great effort. The 2010 sports a 4 liter V-6 that has surprising pulling power for a small truck. Since Ford didn't make any substantial changes to the Ranger for 15 years before discontinuing it in 2011 it's not hard to stay current. Great for 136,000 and 245,000 miles respectively and still going. Hope they continue for a long time yet.

The problem with ALL diesels (not just turbo) is idiots buy them and beat the snot out of them. As long as it's in good working order when you buy it and you know how to drive it right shouldn't be an issue.

The old Beetles are cool cars. The fact that there's so many still on the road tells you all you need to know. Also perfect vehicle for modding if you want to get your Mad Max on.......Baja Bug is on my list of vehicles to own before I die.

My friend had a project 1967 beetle that is electric. Unfortunately, it was recently stolen, and he has been going ballistic over it being gone.

I remember this, this is really sad. I really liked that angelic thing.
I saw tire marks coming out of the driveway the same day it was stolen, why?

As found in the footage of one of the security cameras, there was a man driving a lifted, muddy, camo-painted ford truck, who attached the beetle to his truck and drove away. His license plates were too dirty to read. Also, when the car was parked there, the E-brake was turned on, which explains the tire marks.
I am actually quite pissed off myself about this. I was partly involved in helping build this project car.
