then a team of Germans take on the French before Brazilians confront Colombians

Ah, the glorious Fourth! I'll be inside most of the day, as it is both hot and humid on the Colorado River here in Arizona. The heat is one thing. The humidity is definitely not something I'm used to. Looks like our annual monsoon season is on its way. I sure hope it breaks the drought we've had here in the West.

I'll be watching the fireworks from my back porch tonight. Unlike many animals, my cat isn't afraid of fireworks. He looks more annoyed than anything else when they go off. Now, the little kids from next door, those scare him.

I think I'll read my copy of the Declaration of Independence. It seems appropriate for July 4, and it will also remind me of where we Americans come from.
