Read it. Cowpens is a bad-luck ship; you may recall that this was Holly Graff's boat, she who took command lessons from Shillery the Screamer ... didn't end well and certainly did no service to any serving female officers.
Here, this could be a mix of captains from the Caine Mutiny, Mr Roberts, and perhaps a bit of Operation Petticoat thrown in. But as Sal says, where the hell was the Wardroom during this floating disaster? Or the Goat Locker?? Jesus, on the one hand, it was a miracle no one was killed, but this all could have been cured by ONE PHONE CALL.
