It has been brought to my attention that not everybody has had a wonderful experience with PayPal.
I got it because we're a bunch of fetishists, and even though I don't get nekkid in my vids, I know very well that all sinking and sometimes, just plain old mud, is considered erotic by us. It didn't seem like a good idea to have people write me checks to my real name and location and stuff. Besides, customers like to feel that their credit card info is secure. I'd like to think that I exude an air of scrupulous honesty but get real..."Nessie" is a pseudonym.
So I got PayPal, assuming that they would trust PayPal.
I have had my DVD web-site pretty much exactly the way it is for a couple years now (I haven't even made anything new in ages, though that could change over the winter) and I've never before had anyone tell me that they had trouble paying for a DVD.
But then again, how does one KNOW?
Perhaps they did have a problem and they slunk away in defeat without buying anything or telling me.
So here's your chance. If you tried to buy through PayPal and it was a mess, whine here.
If you know of something better than PayPal, here's your chance to plug it.
Oh, yeah, if you just love PayPal, I'd like to hear about that too.

Never a problem for us, either. I really like that you can deal with anybody without giving anybody but PayPal your credit card info.

Got Paypal a few years ago for commissions and for the SBE paysite. Haven't had any problems yet.

I just took a spin through your site to see how you were using it. You shouldn't have any problems.

Well, so far I'm not getting any whines.
I tried to make it really really easy.
My button says "Add to Cart".
That's not a shopping cart button?
Okay. I won't change it! And thank you for checking my page for me.

I've had nothing but good experiences. I dont' have them linked to my bank account, just use my credit card through them. They saved me from getting screwed on ebay once (long story short, item was not as described and the seller pretty much told me to go f#*k myself when I complained).

Ah, I didn't scroll down far enough.
The reason I mentioned the shopping cart buttons is that I'm sure that the buttons are a way for them to detect e-merchants using their system.
In my case, (many moons ago) I think they had a crawler that detected the buttons and also looked for porn/adult keywords on the same site. Needless to say, they de-activated my account because I violated their Terms of Service. This was just after they had been purchased by E-Bay, which is a publicly traded company.
But....this was a while ago (after some time passed they tried and tried to get me back - I guess they missed the discount they were making off of me), and, you're not selling adult material per se. So you should be ok with the buttons.
Just a tip, put an 'add to cart' and 'view cart' button on each DVD page. It's ok to also have them on the summary page, but it will help folks make the purchase right as they are looking at the goodies.

I've been really, REALLY careful about using ANY adult language whatsoever on that web-site. The closest thing on there is the page about the mystery pit at the Studio, and I urge people to Google Studio 588 on that, but I cannot link directly to it because Fred shoots topless scenes. The rules are a pain since I've got a couple of the exact same files ("Playtime" and "Rubber Wader Walkin' ") on my clip site, but Free Home Page (no adult stuff!) and Clips4Sale (tons of porn, even if it ain't me!) can't be seen talking to each other.
I didn't think about putting the button on each page. Hmmm.

P.S. Bad PayPal for dumping you. I'm glad they realized the error of their ways and crawled back.

I signed up for PayPal mainly so I could pay for the commissioned art requests that I've made over the years. I've also used PayPal to purchase Quicksand Videos/DVDs from time to time, as well as art and sketch books from various artists. So far, PayPal has worked nicely.
