From GCaptain

It might be big, and I am certain is well engineered, and seaworthy
But it has all the elegance of a block of flats laying on its side :P

Even the new Queen Mary has better lines, perhaps because they were thinking ocean liner as well as money maker.

Have to agree on the looks.....they just don't make them like they used to. Whatever happened to that billionaire guy who was building a copy of the Titanic?

Looks like a container ship for a Soviet-era apartment block. They should call it the "Titenement."

Not sure how it can be stable when the "block of flats" isn't stepped back like the gun decks on a Man o' War.

Most of the upper decks and superstructure are made of lighter materials such as aluminum, composites, etc. The machinery still composes the biggest amount of the weight likely, even considering modern powerplants. The GM might not be as large as some, and you would likely notice that in a big sea (especially if no stabilizers or not working) its probably perfectly safe. Likely not as good as something like the original Queen Mary, which was laid on its beam ends one time in the war. That was the inspiration for the Poseidon Adventure film
