The death of Acker Bilk.
In the fifties and early sixties, Traditional Jazz ("Trad") was big in Britain. Men like Kenny Ball, Chris Barber and Acker Bilk (the three B's) had a sting of hits. They dropped out of fashion rather suddenly when the Beatles happened along - but they retained a place in a lot of hearts.
And is there anyone who's never heard Stranger on the Shore?
