Quicksand Fans

...snow, that is. Well sleet and Ice, really. The driveway is now at least partially clear, as is a bit of the road just past it, but I really don't feel like doing any more, today. Arkansas ice storms can suck, but as our storms go, this one wasn't that bad, in that we didn't have rain freezing on the power lines and trees, this time!)

Maybe I should have been born in Russia, where I hear you can get stuck in the road, on foot, from the mud that comes once the snow thaws.

Ah well. If I didn't get myself sick, then at least I got some good exercise. I need more of that if I want to be less of a fat old man. (I'll still be an old man, but no need to be fat)

Yeah, we got the same storm a few hours later. Quite the skating rink heading into work this morning. Worst part is the bitter cold set to follow that will prevent this stuff from being gone in a day or two as usual. I wish we could spread our two weeks of winter out a day at a time instead of having all of it run together like this.

It's the wind I hate. I can live with 12 degrees, I can live with a few inches of snow, but fuck the wind. Just cuts through you like a frigging knife.

For the second year in a row. I actually saw permafrost. I might be living in an igloo next year. Definitely something up.with global weather patterns!

I felt so silly. I got out and did all that shoveling yesterday, then the sun came out in the afternoon and nearly dried up a path for people to drive on, even in my local, rarely-used neighborhood streets. Then, I got up this morning to find snow on the streets. (only about an inch deep) I think I'll let my sweetie drive today.

Just be thankful you don't have to shovel this amount of snow to get to your car!

I think the definitive remark was made a couple of winters ago after a particularly heavy fall of snow in February, when and old guy in England took an ad out in The Daily Telegraph to publicly thank the troop of Boy Scouts who made it possible to go outside his house by "...shovelling three feet of Global Warming off my front drive"!

that's right... climate change means it will never snow again, ask any scientist!

Umm... crazy unusual decreases in temp are all part of the future global change we are headed towards. Unfortunately my area looks like it will be arctic. I would have preferred tropical!
