L/Cpl Josh Leakey Awarded the VC for his actions in Afghanistan in 2013. Winning the VC is already into BAMF territory; winning it and remaining upright is something else entirely. Paras

A curiosity about the award to Cpl Leakey is that he is the second member of his family to win the VC - a distant cousin won one in WW2. According to my newspaper, there are seventeen other known instances of a family winning two or more VCs - including three fathers and sons and four pairs of brothers. Given that only 1,358 VCs have been awarded since it inception in 1856, this seems remarkable. Possibly it's in the genes.
Which reminds me of something I was told as a youngster by a late relative (who had seen action in a small way) - "If you find yourself next to a man who looks like he's going to win the VC, run like hell."
