He was 83. I would say that was relatively long. If you wanted to joke about it, and based on what the esteemed Mr. Nimoy has commented on before:
"It was just logical to go at this time."
He will be missed, as both an actor, director, and all around legendary man. He had a presence, and a sharp wit. For those who think he was just "Mr. Spock", he directed "Three Men and a Baby".

A great loss indeed.
Happy I was able to see him at FanExpo in Toronto a few years back.

It's a sad day. Not only was he a a great actor, an awesome personality, a director and a poet...and yes, he was Mr. Spock...but that man was my very first serious crush. I may have been only nine years old, but how I yearned to be logical always -- just because he was!

Just wondering,does anyone remember a made for tv movie he starred in. He played a man going after a political group that was trying to say that the holocaust didn't happen.
And oh I can't forget this also.....

Star Trek II is the first movie I ever watched that actually moved me to tears. Also the guest appearances on Simpsons ("Marge Vs. The Monorail") and Futurama ("Where No Fan Has Gone Before" and numerous talking head scenes) are hilarious if you've never seen them.

In case anyone is puzzled about the "Make him a sergeant and give him the booze" comment in my last post. It's a reference to his brief appearance in the old sci-fi flick THEM.

I never met him and only know him through his entertainment.
