Quicksand Fans

If anyone here is in the possible path of the hurricane approaching Western Mexico, take this seriously and get out of the way. This storm is currently described as the most powerful EVER in the eastern Pacific or Atlantic. Its a strong category 5 and would be a 6 if there was such a size.

I would gtfo of the way of that even if it meant putting a pack on and running inland. A very big pile of shit is about to hit the fan at about 200mph.......

Unscientifically, this one is at least a 6. If you look at the Safir-Simpson scale, the increase in wind speed is between 15 and 25 miles per hour for each increase in the category number. Category 5 begins at 156 miles per hour. Add 25 to that and you get 181. On that basis, then, one could define 181 as the LOW end of what could be called a Category 6. By that logic, Category 7 would begin at 206. Wind speed in this storm is currently estimated at 200, which would put it near the UPPER end of a 25 mph range I'd call category 6.

To give you an idea of Hurricane Patricia's strength, when she was at her peak, she had SUSTAINED WINDS of up to 325 km/h, or 202 mph! The wind speed of an EF5 TORNADO starts at 322 km/h, or 200 mph! So, this is a hurricane whose sustained wind speeds peaked at the bottom of the MAXIMUM tornado rating!!!!!
