You would think the LCS should be treated more now like an abused puppy, that I just being mean to
Fucking Guess Again
CDR Sal details the failRead the whole thing; the short version is, that it leaked seawater into the lube oil system. And we are to believe the snipes that that was a really cool thing and hey, lets keep running eh?

Utterly wiped out the diesels (shocker....)
The really amusing bit is where 'Lazarus' still persists in his empty-headed monomaniacal defence of the shitbox. And while that was going on.... ANOTHER LCS, of the 'even' class-type (which was "just in Hawaii getting its Harpoons fitted!" ....) No no NO..... suffered a breakdown of the combining system . Hmm . Same system, different unit. Built in completely different yard. I donno, but never been big on coincidence. There's that pesky design flaw no one wanted to believe, eh?
And if that is the Shot, here is the Chaser:
“Coronado is operating under its own power and is being escorted by USNS Henry J. Kaiser.”That's an Oiler, BTW

It writes itself

OMG! Even the tiny, expendable Cannon-class DEs had onboard lube-oil purification systems, and were designed to be able to recover if the lube oil was contaminated in combat.
http://ussslater.org/tour/decks/platfrm2/purifier/purifier.htmlThe sailor who put the DC plug in the pump drain should have either been court-martialed or shot, depending on the results of the FBI/NCIS background check. Walking the plank and keelhauling would be good options, too. I'd feel sorry for the poor SOB, but an object lesson is needed for the rest of the hands.

Read the comments -- ignoring the fuckwit Laz, he's about as retarded as a Beastcunt supporter. Most of the old heads are in agreement, and then some. For the PO that supposedly saw this, the EOW, the CHENG, and the CO to all fucking sign off on this is beyond the pale. And struggles with credibility. Sure. Lets run SALT WATER through a diesel engine. Why not just add some graphite for a nice, even, grinding?......If the USN is truly this fucked-up, then they are going to get their head AND ass handed to them on a plate in the next war

This is why I want Russia and China as friends and not enemies. Friends can have disagreements without shooting each other.
And if the US Navy is this weak, I may reconsider turning Pirate!

We got along just fine with the Sovs, after the Incidents at Sea conference in '84 I think it was....
But it should not be Shocking! that Combat Readiness is way fucking more important than Diversity Training or what some asshole with mental problems thinks what sex they are and are asshurt about it. That HAS to get fucking put up front again. Or, ass, head, plate. Naval warfare is too fucking expensive and destructive to fuck around making engine noises and going Wheeeee! in the fucking tub pretending that that's not fucking insane and the person doing it isn't a fucking complete retard who should be thrown off a tall building

Hey, how about we do a terrestrial version of Space Battleship Yamato? Take all the BB hulls that are still afloat, put two Submarine reactors in them for power, replace the main guns and turrets with armored VLRS batteries and 155 howitzers and generally cram as much more armor and whoop-ass into the hulls as possible. Without the weight of the main guns, would probably be able to armor the whole ship with Chobham type layered armor and even Schurtzen (spaced armor) to defend against shaped charge weapons.
But for both practical and psychological reasons, you need a BFG- my favorite is the 38 cm (15 inch) Raketenwerfer 61. Fires rocket shells through a rifled barrel. Combine that with terminal guidance, and you've got an awesome gun system.

Most of the problems right now are political. Hardware is only a factor in a few cases. Political can be fixed, one way or another. Over time, or a shooting war, which tends to either winnow out retards in both the political and navy-political fields. Or by getting said cocksuckers killed. One way or the other. Fixing things will take time, which is something actual war doesn't care about. Right now, it's 1938. And shit is GOING to happen. Forget any fucking retard-talk by legacy-sucking-cocksuckers. There WILL be a war. Which means, that it will be catchup. Now, that's something the United States has never worried about doing. But the period between NOW and THEN is going to be ugly. Think 1941-42. And too many have forgotten just how bad, that really was.
It was all preventable. Keep that in mind when things start happening, and the bloodbath ensues

Could be titled "Not Done with YOU Yet, Motherfucker..."
MORE LCS RetardationYes, sheer brilliance. Blame the fucking sailors. That's sure to work. And the fucking weasels think working guys even harder will somehow fix an unfixable shitbox. Right. Nothing BAD ever happens, when you work guys to the point of fucking exhaustion in high heat, dealing with machinery, high-pressure systems, and flammable fuels.
Read the whole thing. Some of Sal's comments ring true. The bit about rushing from one drill to another, barely having time to change? Done that. At monthly fire and boat drills. Which are mostly for show on a good day, and generally waste time -- since there are actual work -related things always going on. And there is a limited crew size. Now, on a NAVY ship, which obviously more serious, yeah -- except they have the crew size down around ours now. And trying to operate a much more complex ship. Which is a flawed piece of shit to begin with.

There aren't enough Captain Picard memes on the Internet for this level of facepalm.

These pretty much nail it in line of current events:
LCS was commissioned in 2008. Now 8 years later we have a mission perfect for the LCS, patrols in the Persian Gulf to deal with ever growing Iranian provocations.
8 years later this ship class isn't deployed to do what it was designed to do. Why isn't it deployed? Why are PC class ships facing dozens of Iranian speed boats when an LCS custom built to defeat a swarm is available?
Obviously the PC class isn't fit to defeat a swarm, otherwise there'd be no need for the LCS. So get it over there to do the mission it was accepted to do 8 years ago.
Congress ought to be demanding the Navy get up under oath and tell the country why 8 years after commissioning the LCS can't defeat a swarm of cigarette boats?
and the reply....
Because none are deployable. Here is the status report on the LCS roster:
1. In port and waiting for a dry-dock berth to open up after catastrophic engine failure. Unavailable.
2. On leave from the fleet and serving as a test bed for MCM mission modules in the Gulf of Mexico, with contractors in control. Unavailable.
3. En route to San Diego after emergency repairs after a catastrophic transmission failure, for a further "planned maintenance availability". Unavailable.
4. Headed to a "planned maintenance availability" after repairs following shock trials. Unavailable.
5. Undergoing shock tests after repairs following total transmission failure, then headed to a "planned maintenance availability". Unavailable.
6. In Pearl Harbor for inspection and repairs following transmission failure while en route to Singapore. Unavailable.
7. Pending completion and/or acceptance post sea trials. Unavailable.
8. Ditto.
Status of mission packages: under development.
Number of ships fit for duty: 0
And , by the way, that is NORTH of 2.5 BILLION dollars of utterly worthless shit. Or put another way, woo hoo, 8 slots for making O-5's look like they commanded something, which in the real world, a fucking J.G could be doing it....
