Dial down the paranoia

Actually, if anybody sits down to my PC and opens Chrome, they see the names and thumbnails of my favorite websites. But since my PC is password protected, and the only people in the house know what websites I visit anyway, not a problem.

In my Firefox preferences, under "Privacy", I checked "Clear history when Firefox closes". As for those annoying tiles in a new tab:

The pinned page only shows websites you visit frequently, you can pin 9 harmless sites there by clicking the thumbnail icon on each picture and they won't get replaced then.

1. Create shortcut to Chrome.

2. Right click-->Properties

3. Under the "Shortcut" tab there is a field named "Target". Should be filled in something like this (drive letter might vary)
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe"

4. Don't change any of that, just add -incognito to the end of it, with a space between the last quotation mark and the dash. Like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -incognito

Now you can launch right into Chrome in Incognito mode without having to remember to turn it on. Other tabs you open in the browser will also be incognito.

This is called "InPrivate" in Edge and "Private Browsing" in Firefox. I have no knowledge of, nor do I really care, how well each of these works.
