Merry Christmas, NAVY!

Rating Reversal - Back to the Future

Sanity, or some adults perhaps having a chat with the infantile pustules on the way out the door, prevails

Best comment:

Looks like some folks in the five-sided squirrel cage are getting nervous about what will get pinned on them when the new boss rolls into town. Time to reverse course and pray Ol' Knife-Hands doesn't shit-can every GO/FO in the building on Day 1...

You bet your ass  And he still might.

"What do we replace them with?"

"When your house is on fire, what do you replace the fire with? I suppose the Navy could borrow the USS Slater- a Cannon class DE is probably more capable than an LCS. Yeah, she needs some work to put her back in commission, so that wouldn't change."

The usual suspects crack me up
There are precisely ZERO -ZERO units underway on deployment this second. And the assclowns continue to pretend this thing is anything but a money sump, and a jobs program. If they were so teh awesome! then why aren't any deployed -or even intended - in the Gulf of Aden. Y'know, where all that LITTORAL shit that is in the name, going on? Other than the teeny fact that, they'd never make it without something busting, and in combat, would be molten aluminum in short order.

Plus , it exposes the whole concept. Funny, the USN never had problems operating stuff up to BB-sized in shallow, restricted waters in 1942..... or off Korea.... or off Vietnam...

Fire every single Flag, manager, program coordinator involved in this thing. With malice, as need be. Since lying, last I checked, was a CRIME under the UCMJ

Khan; I agree with you on a lot of things that you've posted, that I rarely reply. This forum as a whole should not be political at all, but I do wonder how long before Big Red (my callsign for the President Elect) will have the LCS staff in the oval office answering his very pointed questions. I would love to be a fly in the oval office when that happens.
If he were to take a page out of grand moff Putin's handbook, he'd go to their jobsite and put them on the spot and let them sweat it out. The biggest difference, imho, would be that you would have 30 days to get your affairs in order before Putin's would take him away. Trump wouldn't, he'd fire you like Pres. Obama did with others in 2009 and someone would languish trying to figure out how much is left in their 401k after getting groceries.

Yep

I favour the St Curtis approach; That being Curtis LeMay... Have these charmers standing in front of the desk, at attention, and explain, precisely IN DETAIL, why their ass shouldn't be fired out of a cannon. MAYBE aimed at the Potomac. Frankly, I'd be more worried about Mattis than Donnie; since while both can fire their asses, Mattis is NOT the guy you can baffle with bullshit. Considering he was a 4-star general himself and KNOWS how the 5-sided wind tunnel operates. Be Afraid

Glad he made it ok. As I said about those incidents, everyone in LCS-central was poo-pooing things ignoring the fact, that the ships engaged THERE , were actual, badass DESTROYERS. An LCS would be a target balloon. And, all the sand apes had to do, was get lucky ONCE. They never seemed to get that. A DD would probably survive with casualties. An LCS would sink in a molten mass with loss of all hands. They never like to talk about that little thingy
