There are current reports that the volcano called Camp Flagri may be approaching a critical state. Very unfortunately this volcano is pretty much a caldera (collapse crater) occupied by the City of Naples and Naples Harbor. Its quite possible that nothing will happen but also very possible it will.

I was part of a volcanic eruption in Naples during the summer of '85. A flame haired Irish volcano goddess named Lorelei was responsible. It got very hot and there were several small deaths.

OUCH! Hopefully nothing happens.
If, as some claim, the city of Atlantis was on the island of Thera (Santorini), that's what happened to Atlantis. The finest natural harbor on the planet was actually the caldera wall, and the island where the city sat was the cinder cone. Somewhere around 1600 BCE- KABOOM!

I thought Atlantis ended up in Pegasus? And flew back in '06
Volcano-stuff, I hope Naples and all the associated terrain doesn't end up suborbital, but hey. Could happen tomorrow, or 10,000 years from now. Geology...

I breathe the dust of a major eruption literally every day during the winter months.
- Inadvertently rode my mountain bike at moderately high speed into a pile of debris last week. Got sand in my sandals as gift. Hehe
