Ditched the television a few years ago and never looked back. What I can't stream, I can usually get together with good people and watch (and then it's always hockey), so much the better with the company. History was one reason I kept the TV for so long; when it began to become the bilge that it is today, I renounced completely. I see it's kept up its (lack of) standards.

Yeah, the slow descent of History Channel into "reality tv" is one of the reasons we ditched satellite. Why pay all that money every month for a bunch of channels, all of which have nothing good to watch?
Started watching a History Channel documentary (on YouTube) the other day on the history of machine tools, and it was execrable. Not sure if it was REALLY dumbed down for their audience, or if that reflected the intelligence and ability of the producers.
