Think he mentioned last time as well, the grips suck for a short-barreled magnum, and slap too hard. Something to consider, when this guy says 'ow' then maybe think a longer, heavier and BETTER grip setup be the better idea

I'm not a pussy and I recommend gloves for the really big magnum loads. If you have knurled grips they'll tear your skin off, if smooth you'll end up with friction blisters. Lot of bang there. If I shoot more than 10-15 rounds out of my .500 S&W I can't close my hand right the next day lol. The webbing area between my thumb and forefinger is just one big bruise.

The Big Fella mentioned it before if I recall, think he did some serious-talk about the type of rubber/plastic/whatever S&W using on the grips now, and how it has no cushioning, and 'slaps' much harder. Which is kinda funny, since his original Model 29 has the wood grips still. But I think it being a lot heavier and longer barrel , is a factor

Some of the S&W's come with nice foam rubberish type Hogue grips.....they do nothing. Mini cannon is going to destroy your hand. Just deal with it, or don't shoot it.
If you're not trying to kill a Rhino .357 Mag is plenty. Also doesn't recoil nearly as bad. Buy a .357 Mag, shoot it all day with .38's or .38 Specials, then load up the big cartridges when you want to look like a badass.
