Turns out, the problem with this thing, is the same thing Tony Stark had in the movie; The POWER
And unfortunately, the ARC Reactor was fictional
But the rest? Workin' on it.... :twisted:

Batteries don't just need to get better, they need to get non-explosive. Even if you could make a lithium battery pack that would run an exo suit there is NO DAMN WAY I'd put it on my back and go get shot at.

If it's powered, you can use thickness in your armour that you wouldn't normally consider. Again, the power thingy
Plus, No One, Ever, is going to be wielding a .50 like an AR.

There's ceramic composites that can stop small cannon shells now. Could probably go with that and keep the weight down to a quarter ton or so.
