For those who have not yet heard it, the new Dr Who, replacing Peter Capaldi, is Jodie Whittaker.

Yup

I liked her work on Broadchurch and think she's gonna be amazing in the role.
As sad as I am to see Capaldi go, I'm really excited to see her in the TARDIS.

I think she'll do just fine...

About time we had a lady in the role.

I guess that I am not surprised about the gender change, considering that "The Master" regenerated into "Missy". It will be interesting to see how Jodie portrays The Doctor.

Now if they'd just bring Romana back as a man...

You know that in England this news has pushed the Grenfell Tower Disaster AND Brexit out of the news COMPLETELY?

I'd love to see 'Roman' return as a political player from Gallifrey wanting the Doctor's help post-rassilon's reign.

I admit to cringing at the idea of the Doctor regenerating into a woman (which is weird considering that I CD in real life) because the Doctor has always been a man. Now that they have pulled the trigger on this change-up, I am now rather excited to see how this works out. I hope that Jodie does well. Either way, this will be life-changing for her acting career. If a person has never seen Broadchurch, they had probably never heard of her. Now, she will be known worldwide.
