Eclipse

The eclipse is now over here in Arkansas. Although we are in a zone of 96 percent of totality I'd have to classify it as a bit of a disappointment. The sky was absolutely clear but the level of darkness was, while clearly apparent, a good deal less than during a heavy thunderstorm. It was indeed different to see direct, but dimmer than usual, sunlight, but it did not get dark. Except for actual shots of the eclipsed sun I think one could film a scene and mimic the effect by just adjusting the exposure, either on the camera or in post production.

The darkening effect was interesting, like dusk/dawn but with more shadows. Other weird thing I noticed was that standing in what direct sunlight was left didn't feel hot.

75% coverage in my neck of the woods. A time-lapse I shot shows a noticeable dim at around the peak.

"Watching" it on NASA's www page was kind of a bust as my server kept giving me the buffering arrow. I "watched" it using the timeandplace.com page for my area. 68% Totality, so...
What NASA had when I could see was very enjoyable for the ones that could view it.

100% here in Missouri. My pictures turned out terrible though.

It was around 80% here in Vernon BC, Canada. When it neared its peak, the sunlight was noticeably duller, and the air had a slight chilly bite to it, like in late autumn. I had put together a rather effective setup for viewing the event safely, but I had to keep making adjustments as the sun moved around. Here are some photos:
