Universe Checks in, Wondering "How's that Spaceflight Program Going?"

Postby kham » Fri Aug 25, 2017 9:49 pm

Largest-ever asteroid is about to fly by Earth

September 1. 18 LDs away, so should be fine. At 4.6 km dia, it would do more than just muss our hair...
Not to worry, wont be back for 483 years

18 LDs?
Oh tosh! Tanya retorted, quicksand churning,
Round her knees, then thighs, then oh dear!
It got intimate with her hips and her panties,
And squished rather funnily up her rear!

LDs is Lunar Distance. Basically how far away the moon is away from us.

1 LD = about 400,000 km
When they start using fractions of LD, then it's serious :D It's also easier to express for some, 7.2 million km might not get noticed, or something. Heaven help them if they start using light-seconds for things
