Author Brian Shul on piloting the SR-71

Very nice lecture, this guy defines badass; Vietnam Vet, shootdown survivor, badly burned but recovered after agonizing treatment; eventually regaining flight status, instructor status, and ultimately, flying the most awesome flying machine ever, the SR-71 Blackbird

His book, Sled Driver - if you ever see one, try and grab it; if you see two, call me, I'm interested. The problem is as he says, they are so damn popular, they cost a fortune. Moron I was, almost ordered one in the nineties, but FORGOT
Damn me

Holy shit you ain't kidding. $470 on Amazon. A framed autographed picture of the guy is only $150.
Yard/Estate sales are a great place to pick up good books cheap. The people trying to get rid of grandpas old junk often have no clue what they have.

Some of his stories are dark humor indeed :)
The General explaining the special mission he wanted him and Walter to fly was hilarious. Especially him raising hand and "um. Uh , General, what if..." :D
