I heard about combat pilots who it was said could fly a Cessna under a clothesline... This looks similar to that...

Something like this happened to a father of a friend of mine back in the 1980s. Then, air launched cruise missile tests were being conducted out west near Cold Lake, Alberta by the USAF and their B-52s... The massive bombers would do low level flying following the landscape to the test area, then back to their home bases in the eastern US.

All this was hush-hush, of course. Everyone knew about the tests, but not when or how they were done.

So.... one day my bud's father is fishing on a river which feeds into Lake Superior on the Canadian side when the sky went dark. He looked up only to see this huge plane with US markings blotting out the sky before vanishing around the bend of the river. It was one of the B-52s which had launched its missiles as part of the tests and was practicing low level flying on his way back home. The angler never heard the aircraft until it was literally on top of him. Gave him a great story to tell later....

I posted video a long time back, which might be gone from youtube , I would need to look. It was very way back in the tape days, of mostly F-5s , playing what looks a lot like North of Cold Lake. Following the road compass just above the treetops. Sometimes lower. And trying to follow the turns. At a bunch of knots Never saw any Ice Road truckers, but they had to be around. Probably just not on tape to protect the innocent-sorta
