Finally 21!

It's pretty much the same over here. Different ages for different things, but 21 is pretty much the age where you're considered an adult (that might vary from state to state I'm not exactly sure). The passport thing is an interesting difference, they actually make you get one?

Checking various references, the age of adulthood in the United States (not including territorial possessions) is 18 years of age except in three states... Alabama it's 19 years of age (unless you're married, then it's 18 years of age), Nebraska it's 19 years of age, and Mississippi it's 21 years of age.

In most Canadian jurisdictions, legal alcohol drinking/possession age is 19 (it has been 18 in some places - including my native Ontario, changing after I turned 18, but was of no interest to me).

Aaa. I've enjoyed my life without it. All I've ever drank is wine back in my 20s and 30s, and the total of it would fit into two wine glasses. I don't begrudge it to anyone else with the common sense not to drink it to excess and cause harm (themselves or someone else).
