When mud is not fun

It's raining again here in the Great Northeast. Been a chilly and very wet Spring. Only had three kinds of weather- just about to rain, raining, and just finished raining. Seriously, though, it's putting farmers in a bind. Too muddy to get on the fields, so they can't even do their Spring plowing, much less get crops in the ground. On the horse farm where I volunteer, we can't take the tractor out of the barnyard, even with 4WD. Too heavy, and the turf tires don't help. Have been hauling manure out to the pile (which we usually only use in Winter) with a 4WD ATV and trailer, and that is getting to be a challenge. The pastures are wet enough that the horses' hooves are tearing them up, too. Not good for having good grazing later in the year. Really hoping for a dry spell long enough for the farmers to get their crops in and the pastures to dry out.

I just finished cleaning up my basment from a sump pump failure yesterday.......I mow the lawn and 3 days later it already needs mowing again......starting to miss being in a drought.
