Thanks for the link. That's one of his more open kits, and one of the times that he started on the back.

My favorite solos are the older ones, usually in YYZ, from the Exit Stage Left era.

Intelligent, affable, reserved....I was lucky as I had a friend in the right place at the right time and got a few words in with him during the Chicago stop of the Clockwork Angels tour in 2012. I asked the right questions and he talked to me for a few minutes, but then was off on his own way.

Peart shunned the public eye/adoration....this was someone you did not ask for autographs or photographs from, either....he didn't do "meet n greets", that was Lee and Lifeson's forte, but that is a conversation for another time.

Very saddened by his passing...Rush's music was always in the background of my youth, even in the 70s....I had friends who had older brothers who were already deeply into their catalog, and albums like A Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres were in the background (and burnt into my subconscious) at a lot at folks' homes after school....my own coming of age musically had the shadow of Permanent Waves - in particular - and Moving Pictures heavily layered on it....not to mention a close friend who was an aspiring drummer himself who idolized Neil....been feeling very melancholy since the news broke....our/my generation are losing our musical heroes, one by one....
