RIP Curly Neal
Long time Globetrotter legend Curly Neal has passed away at 77. I saw him play live at least once, back in the 60's. I also taught for several years at the university where he played. He was revered there.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 13 different producers. Info may be found at:

Yea, he and Meadowlark Lemon were part of my childhood memories.
I think that most people realized that they could have beat most NBA teams in a real game if they wanted. Very talented athletes - who gave up taking themselves too seriously in order to put a smile on people's faces. It's not a trait you see that much of anymore.

Re: RIP Curly Neal
Everybody wanted to dribble like Curly. When I was a kid we would all try to dribble as close to the ground as possible and handle the ball like him. Dad would take us to see the Globetrotters every time they came to town so I got to see him play several times. Always fun.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.

I wasn't a sporty little kid. Somebody, long ago, asked me, "What's your favorite team?"
"The Harlem Globetrotters."
"That's not a real team!"
(Stomping foot) "Oh, yes, it is!"
I used to love it when they came on TV. RIP Curly.

Re: RIP Curly Neal
You KNOW you have made it big time when someone makes a Saturday morning cartoon about you.
I was 10 when this came out. I'm 60 today and I still remember the theme song. So, THAT'S where those brain cells went...
