Having been designated as "essential" I've been going to work every day. They gave me the option of doing most of my work from home where I would be locked in with my wife and daughter as they viewed Hallmark and Lifetime all day...

I suspect that is true but I'd rather take the chance that my immune system fares better with the virus that it does with being inundated in soap operas and chick flicks.

As blasphemous as it sounds we've actually had a good time with all this. It's the first time since I turned 16 that I've been home for an extended period of time with family. It's been rough on a lot of people and I don't want to minimize that but it's been kind of a vacation for us. The gym where my wife works has been closed and my daughter's critter sitting business has been wiped out by everyone staying at home with their critters as they should anyway so we're all together when I get home. We never cooked before now and I'm actually going to bed early for the first time in my entire life. There's food in the house for the first time since I left my parents home. For the first time in over 20 years I'm unconcerned with preparing for qs video shooting season as well. My daughter broke up with her boyfriend (He was a good kid) so I don't have to deal with him either. Sad that it has taken such a calamity to enforce some "normal" on life. Speaking for just me, wife, daughter, and dog, it's really been pretty nice. I won't complain when it's over though.

I hope we can all benefit from this, aside from simply surviving of course. I am very sorry for those who have lost their income, however. My fear is we will jump the gun on ending sequestration and trigger a second wave.

Louvered windows - Popular in Florida and along the Gulf coast

I Googled it. Yep, that's them all righty! Thank you! I've always wondered if those things had a name!

I wouldn't say they're popular windows around here. In fact I can't think of one other house in the neighborhood that has them.

I'm essential too. Don't ask me why. I can't think of a thing I've done in months that the world couldn't have gone without. But open we are, so life hasn't actually changed much. I did have a sideline of walking dogs and babysitting pets in general, though, and now I can't so much as darken their doors. I miss the critters!

This is how I keep myself busy during lockdown ( apart from watching MPV and Studio 588 movies, of course ! ) It's a hobby I've had ssince childhood, and it keeps me occupied and sane ( mostly ) Apart from that I'm going for daily walks for exercise and watching movies.

Beautiful job on the P-51 model. I haven't built one since the 80's.

In a similar manner I too have been playing with Mustangs, but in flying form. RC, to be more specific.

Recently I've been making HOW TO videos on modding pre-manufactured RC aircraft for more power and control. I'm almost out of planes to mod and distract me though

After an entire season with no more than a dusting the weather forecast for right now uses the evil "S" word. Fortunately this appears to b a lie, at least according to the "look out the window" method.

Very nice. And probably better reflexes than I posses right now.

The last gas powered models I flew were .60 size P-51s. The markings were similar to the model that Herzeleid built (nice job btw!). But we put strips of florescent tape on the leading edges of the wings so we could pick them out against the mountains - especially when coming in to land.

One was destroyed when I came up short on landing (I was used to .40 sized models and misjudged the distance). The other was lost in a nasty ground loop. But they did fly and track just like the real thing.

I have an electric J3 out in the garage that I need to get flying again. At least here in TN, nobody would give a rats ass where I fly, as long as it isn't into somebodies face. Hehe

Might work on a P-38 or de Havilland Mosquito. But on a P-51, not so much.
