We've lost another national treasure
Here in Britain, a day of national mourning; Tim Brooke-Taylor has died at the age of 79, on Easter Sunday, of coronavirus. He was best known for his role, as "the one in the Union Jack waistcoat" in the TV sitcom "The Goodies" during the 70s. One of many comedians who started out in the Cambridge University "Footlights revue" during the 60s "satire boom", he went on to write for and appear in the BBC radio show "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again", then he went on to star in ITV's "At Last The 1948 Show", along with many of the "Pythons". He also wrote for many other sitcoms. His last role was as a doctor in "Agatha Christie's Marple". We are all the poorer.

Re: We've lost another national treasure
Indeed a great loss.
I loved The Goodies, and I use to have the "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again" performance of "the curse of the flying wombat" recorded off the radio in it's entirety. Tim would play "Lady Constance" and "Tim Brown Windsor". Bill Oddie and John Cleese are in it too. This was all in the late 1970's for me.
Here's part one. I haven't heard this in 30 years!: https://youtu.be/JhvvpStnNXw
And a clip from The Goodies. That's TIm getting the ball dropped through him:

RIP, funny man. Thanks for the laughs

Just ran into this. Very cool. I did not realize all this time that he was in "Willy Wonka..."
