Alive and Well
For the past two months I have been dealing with progressive chest pain and breathing issues, and it was initially diagnosed as pneumonia. Well, no. Congestive heart failure and 5 days in hospital after a cardio visit (do not pass Go, do not collect $200, you are GOING INTO HOSPITAL NOW). That was May 6 and after bringing blood pressure way down, I had a stent inserted into a 95% blocked artery, on a low sodium diet and home again resting. I also repaired a 15 year breach and broken relationship with my sister. When the fellow in the white nightgown (as W.C. Fields called mortality) touches your shoulder, life changes for the better.

Welcome back! Glad you're on the mend, as it were.

Re: Alive and Well
Welcome back. Take care of yourself, do what the docs say...and get well. Congratulations, though, on making things up with your sister. Life is too short to be on the outs with family. That part of your post is good.
Diet helps, and so does exercise (in amounts prescribed by your doctor)...but one way to bring down blood pressure without worrying about what is in your food is to gaze at quicksand photos that have peaceful, beautiful, scenic backgrounds.

Glad everything is okay. Just curious but do you have any family history of similar troubles?
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Glad you're ok. It's amazing how healthy you can feel but still have a timebomb ticking in your chest. I've had a couple family members end up in the same situation--go in for something minor and end up having heart surgery right then and there.

Glad to hear you're fine and recovering. Also, glad to hear you've patched things up with your sister. Things like this reminds us of not taking things for granted, and that a family's love is not to be taken lightly. Best wishes on a full recovery.

Re: Alive and Well
Recovery is going very well. My daughter is getting married tomorrow and tonight I had the restoration of relationship dinner with my sister, her husband and her young son - a 15 year broken relationship repaired because of my hospital stay which re-focused me on what is important in life and living. Not a bad eve. Many thanks to one and all in our community here for your good words and wishes. And, Nessie, the little dog we adopted is doing swimmingly well too.

Glad to hear it! Although at the moment I'm petless...if it's got fur, I think it is wonderful.
