Indeed.

None of what I have read about him mentions how he nailed his part in 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

“Let us sit on the ground and tell sad tales on the death of kings.”.

A song lyric to remember:
"Edelweiss, Edelweiss,
Bless my home-land forever!"

I love when he compared making the sound of music to "being beaten to death with a Hallmark card". He had a huge body of work which ran the gamut of brilliance, popcorn, and real stinkers. The real test of a great actor though is to bring the same effort to every one of those no matter how awful it is. He made a several just as bad as Starcrash or worse. Anybody who can deliver this and sounds like he means it without cracking up -

You know, my son, I wouldn't be Emperor of the Galaxy if I didn't have some powers at my disposal. Imperial Battleship, halt the flow of time!

Well, it's done. It's happened. The stars are clear. The planets shine. We've won. Oh. Some dark force, no doubt, will show it's face once more. The wheel will always turn; but for now it's calm. And for a little time, at least, we can rest.

But even animated well -

Great actor who didn't take himself as seriously as he could have.

How many times did he have to tell idiots who would come up to him and say,
How could Baron von Trapp be a Captain in the Austrian Navy? Everone knows Austria is landlocked and doesn't have a Navy! Duh!"
to which he would have patiently replied,
"Actually, if you look in the history books, you'll see that Austra DID have a coastline until 1918, only know it's called Croatia".
-he would have been too much of a gentleman to go "Duh!" in return.
