Who says you're too old?

Postby SabbieMobili » Tue May 25, 2021 3:29 pm

New Zealand racer Ken Smith has completed his 60th consecutive year competing in open-wheel formula car racing, and ran his 50th New Zealand Grand Prix in January of this year, even after shoulder replacement surgery. He won the race in 1976, 1990 and 2004. He is now 79 and I haven't heard any talk of him retiring from driving. Apparently he's like the cars: should something break, just replace it with new hardware.

And here I am over a decade younger, complaining about my knees after an hour in the Jeep fighting Fort Worth traffic.
Damn this slow quicksand! I have half a mind to struggle!

Some lucky people age better than others. I always thought my boss was in his late fifties, maybe early sixties at most, few months ago he mentions it was his birthday, I ask him how old and he says 76! Blew my mind.
