No cheating! Here is what could be considered a trivia question based on today's news.

It was reported today the Queen Elizabeth met with her 13th US President, although not 13 successive presidents. Name the one she did not meet. Hint: There may be cases when the President she met was not in office at the time or when she was not yet the Queen when the meeting took place.

I'll take a stab at it, but I'll use my protected shield of rationale if I'm wrong. Harry Truman may have met the Queen when he was Vice President for diplomatic reasons. Then WWII starts and the eventual death of FDR makes Truman President. After that, he never makes it over there to the UK under his new title, Hope I'm right - sorry if I'm wrong!!

Not correct. The question was which president she did NOT meet. I am afraid you also have to take American History over again. Truman became Vice President in January of 1945 (the election of 1944). The war in Europe was drawing to an end then.

Its not relevant to the question but Harry was President when Fred was invented (ok, born).

The President who never met with Queen Elizabeth, irrespective of whether either was in office at the time, was Franklin D. Roosevelt. The first serving president she met was Harry S. Truman. Roosevelt is the missing part of the sequence because she did meet Herbert Hoover, albeit long after he was no longer in office.

Damn! I thought I might get that one. Memo to myself: read the whole freaking question next time before knee jerking an answer! I still probably wouldn't have got it, but it was fun away. Thanks Fred!

Okay, semantic technicality but, Queen Elizabeth wasn't Queen when she could have met with FDR. She was a teenager in the Royal Army when he died. I believe she was Queen when she met Herbert Hoover. She could have met FDR when she was Princess Elizabeth.
