Social Media Strikes Again

Postby Mynock » Thu Nov 25, 2021 5:46 pm

Well......reading through comments I'm happy to see I'm just a silly old Luddite behind the times. I don't do social media but hey if it works for you have at it. :D

I am in agreement with Mynock here. I do not do Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other social media. I find them to be far too invasive. I tried Discord briefly but found the daily summarizes to be incomprehensible. The all seem a colossal waste of time to me.

The telegraph disappeared along with handwritten books, most of broadcast radio, newspapers, land line telephones, and now gradually, television. Yet people communicate more than ever and more of it than ever is person to person. Social Media is a mind grabbing nightmare but it's also, for better or worse, how the message gets out in this day and age. That's going to continue to evolve too, hopefully for the better.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.

I submit that 'person to person' is a figure of speech in this case.

"person" sometimes assumes a fact not in evidence
