Milfoil and Duckweed Necklace

Postby Nessie » Sun Jun 27, 2010 10:20 pm

This was an odd location...water by the shore and floating peaty cattail beds out farther.

Unfortunately, all the warmth was by the shore. Trying to crawl out to the cattail beds to sink into their springy surfaces didn't quite work for me, today anyway, since far out was also far colder. Shivering, I had to retreat back to right about here.

Hopefully this'll change as the summer progresses.

Sir Tripod got a little footage anyway and here's a vidcap, but the sinking for the weekend was really yesterday at the other mudpit.

You do look lovely, Nessie. Obviously, you fear no deer flies! :)

Actually, there weren't any exactly there. The bog itself was fly-free. But they were terrible pests on the way to and from.

I carried a great big can of DEET-laden repellant and used it...a lot...with the only break from the pesky critters being while actually walking in the swamp.

Nessie,

Despite the difficulties, it looks like a fantastic location. Nice thigh-deep submersion picture, as well.
