Don't tell my dog. I'm only 2 miles or so from a concert venue that shoots off fireworks, so Binger will be under my desk much of the night. The last 2 firework-free years due to covid have been a blessing for him.

That said, HAVE A FUN AND SAFE 4TH EVERYONE!

Thanks!

The spirit has compelled me so far to walk my dog and replace the fuel pump on one of my mowers (before it gets too hot).

I'm trying conserve my bottle rocket supply for critter control. But I may 'punch' some old hard drives with 12 gauge slugs later. Hehe

Afternoon entertainment.....the usual culprits. Bottle rockets, crackers, smoke bombs. Before anybody asks the JD was consumed previously, we just use the bottles because the shape deflects sparks away from your hands. 8-)

The main event......68 shot mortar display. Took me 3 hours to fuse up. Got a deal on some premium 6" canister shots that are supposed to strobe as they go up, I'll try to get video if I can.

Also known to some as "Scare the Crap out of you Pet Day".

246 years ago, a group of brave, principled, and enlightened men stood up to the tyranny of being ruled from 3000 miles away by people they didn't elect. They knew they would stand or hang together. That devotion has withstood all storms, fended off all comers, and isn't about to yield now. They set an example for the world that bears remembering every day and celebrating at least once a year.

My dogs are far more disturbed by my wife and daughter mixing it up than they would be if I set up a pyrotechnic test range in the back yard. The grill is ready and I intend to interrupt my weight loss program for just one meal.

The day will be spent editing video here, interspersed with a couple of dips in the hot tub. It has been and remains far too dry for any sane person to even consider pyrotechnics. Of course, there are a large number of people around here who are not entirely sane. For some, make that np even a little bit sane.

Some change of pace tomorrow - editing video and a grocery run. Then editing video on Wednesday. It will be too hot (about 100) for anything else.

That awkward moment.....when the control computer glitches and decides to shoot off an 18 minute display in 30 seconds......

2020 is the year that will live in infamy for me....I think it was quarantine that caused all the stir crazy people to just buy all the fireworks and let loose.
We sat in the backyard from 9pm to past 1am shooting off our own stuff, but also watching in amazement as enough pyrotechnics were going off around us to literally turn night into day.

Whatever afflicted us apparently was catching.....even in the middle of LA.
