Aluminum bodies are probably fine but one problem they have presented us where I work - The magnetic numbers we stick on visiting vehicles now have to be placed on the dash inside the windshield.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.

The way I understand it is the sheet metal is made of aluminum, but all the structural components are still steel.
If I only planned to keep the truck a few years I might try the twin turbo ecoboost but for the long haul I'd rather have the normally aspirated V8. It has a better horsepower/torque curve and I can work on it and do maintenance myself.
Forced induction is great for MPG's but adds a another big level of complexity to the engine and to make peak power you're running it hard. You're always a stuck waste gate or a bearing failure away from blowing the top off the engine.
