Thanks for the link. It's interesting that Paul Shaffer's crew could get so close to the studio version. Even the tone on the guitar.
The only drawback was how shrill/reedy the sax sounded. In any case, is was super 80's, and a nice trip down memory lane.
In my mind, David Sanborn and Grover Washington Jr. paved the way for a lot of current 'contemporary jazz' Saxophonists. I don't know if you have ever heard any Mindy Abair material. She's got good tone, and a knack for capturing the classic 'hi-fi' sound in her mixes. Dave Koz is good as well.

It was a really interesting documentary. Watched the entire thing when it came out. Great demonstration of how poorly we eat nowadays. Unfortunately it appears he was also an alcoholic and that's what caught up with him.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.
