Stella Stevens, 84.

" Actress Stella Stevens, who appeared in a string of movies in the 1960s and ’70s including “The Nutty Professor” and “The Poseidon Adventure,” died Friday from Alzheimer’s disease at 84, said her son, actor and producer Andrew Stevens.

Richard Belzer, 78.

" Richard Belzer, the comedian and actor best known for playing the acerbic Detective John Munch across a number of NBC crime dramas, including “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” over more than two decades, has died, according to his longtime manager. He was 78.

Belzer “passed away peacefully” early Sunday morning local time at his home in France, according to Eric Gardner, his manager. "

as for Belzer--- first he was a solid stand up comedian before his life as Detective Munch

and you have to be pretty old to remember he started that role in the even better show Homicide, Life on the Street

That hurts. Not that his later Rossington-Collings work was anything to ignore but Skynyrd was the band when I was young. I was basically the dork who taped ankles and mixed Gatorade for football and basketball in high school. Knowing every word to their hits was practically required so you could sing very loudly on the bus to the game.

Yes, his other great band. Sad that terrible luck and tragedy ended that run so early on.
