Remembering Ken Hamilton

Here's a good way to do it -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LViPQMahygw

There's a near certainty that Ken worked on one, if not both of the ships (he would have called them boats) in the first half of this video. He would have stood watch on the bridge and walked the decks. I had a handful if pics that he sent while working. If I find them, I'll add them here.

In any case, I've always been a fan of Great Lakes freighters (now referred to as lake boats). My grandpa used to take me and my brother to Belle Isle in Detroit and watch them go by. I even touched one while it was moving into one of the Welland Canal locks - although I didn't realize anything about what was really going on at the time. So that Ken was a career sailor on one really came as a pleasant surprise. RIP Ken.

The markings on those two ships appear to say Algoway and AlgoSoo. My memory for that sort of thing is not very good but neither name sounds right. Ken's "boat" definitely started with "Algo," though. I looked up names of other boats owned by Algoma, however, and none of their names sound right either. If it WAS one of those shown I would bet on Algoway.
