Why not? He was a great pitchman and he spoke Canadian.

Not long after Star Trek he was living in a pickup truck with a camper top as he traveled the continent doing commercials, dinner theater, whatever he could find. He had three daughters and a messy divorce to support. He's never stopped working even now when he no longer needs to. It's nice to know that Captain Kirk was not played by some bum.

Shatner could act serious without taking himself too seriously. Seems inevitable that all the good stuff that's come his way later in life would find him.

Interesting find! After watching the original Star Trek series, pretty much anything that starred William Shatner caught my attention. He has a style that's all him. I enjoyed the special on either the History or Discovery Channels where Shatner talked about all the things that are enjoyed today that can find their start on Star Trek. The tall, leggy blonde who showed up at the house at the end of the show and chased him and the camera crew out was quite fascinating. He always seemed to end up with all of the great-looking ladies.

Shatner can do serious when he wants to; anyone who has seen the vid/dvd "Trinity and Beyond", features him doing the narration, and doing a pretty damn good job too.

Yes, I've seen that on the Discovery Channel. One of the better documentaries on the subject. Guess I was too into the program to realize that Shatner was narrating it. The music fits the scenes of the various detonations.

That is a fav documentary of mine, too. Most interesting. Mr. Shatner and the music really help enhance things.
