Do your bucket list while you can

One of the things I got involved in about 25 years ago was cave exploring. When I heard about the chance to assist with some research in some volcanic caves in Hawaii I just at it. And i got to do it. Even if i was younger that research would be impossible right now, for me or anyone else. To see why, go to the link below. What is going on in the link (whch is a live video) is located about a half mile from where my research was. So grab your chance when you have it.

Well I do not disagree. For one thing, I am just two months from being 75. For another, I had one rental client a number of years ago who expressed regret at having delayed a visit to Chuck Lang's location while he was alive.

Volcanos National Park is on my Bucket List! :)

Never turn down a new experience, never be afraid to take a (reasonable) risk and never be afraid of screwing up. If you're not failing and making mistakes you're not trying hard enough at life. 8-)

It was my favorite also, mostly because that is where my research project was. The chief scientist there at the time, who helped get approvaal for my project, had what I thought was the office that Bill Gates wished he had, a second-floor office with a picture window overlooking the Kilauea caldera (from a distance of maybe 20 yards from the cliff) with the Haleamaumau collapse pit (where the current eruption is taking place) about 3/4 of a mile away. His view was about the same as that in the current video of the eruption, although the Jaggar Museum and HVO facilities are now abandoned due to the eruption. For anyone visiting the Big Island, however, bear in mind that Kilauea is only one of five volcanoes on the island. Be sure to see them all.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THANX! No caving for me. Mr. Claustrophobia Supreme here.

I see videos like this and I lock up. I got nervous just walking through Injun Joe's cave on Tom Sawyer Island at Disneyland. PASS!

Caving is not for everyone. Picture one with about the same degree of tightness, but compeltely dry. Now imagine the temperature is about 100, except for pulses that are about 115 and last for maybe 20 seconds. That's what you can encounter in a volcanic steam cave, whic is what my research project involved.
