Oh, all this time I never realized there was a counter for that. 
It still says 19999, so I guess it does not get updated instantly. Anyway, happy 20000th!

Yea, there's some active pruning still going on in the background. We're trying to turn it off.
Since the board isn't as active as it was 10 years ago, the count will likely keep going down meanwhile.

I interpret that to mean the counter refers to the current content of the database, and not the total number of topics entered.
