We have a dog again!

Long story- saw her on the local news website, identical circumstances to our Pepper, and a very similar dog. We went to the shelter to check her out, and brought her home. Welcome to the household, Honey!

The Weredragon is home all day now (disability retirement) otherwise we wouldn't be getting a dog. She is a little love. Okay, maybe 54 pounds isn't little, but to us she's a cute little golden fuzzball. Even the cat likes her!

I have an outside dog that's quite playful and friendly, even to strangers- at least when said strangers are human.

"Yayyyy! Yippeeeeeeeee!"

Threads that announce the arrival of a dog, especially when they feature a photo of nothing but a huge dog-face and then, a happy owner with the dog...are GOOD!

She is very adorable. Congratulations.

I hope the day comes when I will be home enough to own another dog. In the meantime, though, a small white creature sits on my lap every night and doles out a handful of furry...

Rat love.

Lloyd says "Hi" to Honey, but he's not coming over any time soon because she might think he's lunch.

Funny you should say that. I just had her for "last outs" and she focused on something I couldn't see or hear. There was other stuff going on- leaves rustling, water running, small animals moving around- she ignored all that. Whatever she saw got the token growl and a couple of non-threatening barks.
I looked there out of the corner of my eye, and thought I saw some "shadow play." No cars going by or windows on that end of the house, so no light source. Was it a spectral pack of dogs and cats, most of whom are buried right where she was looking? Or perhaps the "Grandfathers", the shadow figures of Native Americans that have been seen? Don't know, but she didn't want to leave the circle of the porch light after that. She wasn't overly scared or upset.

Thanks! :) I don't think Honey would have a problem with Lloyd, but Comet. . . that's a different story.

It's possible, I guess. My first dog would chase squirrels, but the little weenie beanie...?

"Whaddya mean, dachschunds were bred for hunting? That's got to be an urban legend. We were bred to sit on laps and sleep on soft cushions...and all food comes from cans."
