Alas, poor claypit, I knew thee well...um...but I guess it's not really the end...unlike humans, once frozen, they do thaw out and are fine!

If you're typing about the clay pit at Studio588, while it is visually wonderful, it's too thin for my taste. I wish I could cover it over with a layer of really thick, sticky clay, so that sinking into it would be much slower, and with hope of the whole thing acting much more like a waterbed that slowly gobbles up anyone who steps into it, then very greedily attempts to keep them.

Then, of course, I would love to see a woman step in.

I will need to make my own clay pit to have one I'm truly happy with.

Clay pits hibernate in the winter. Then they emerge really hungry in late spring.

And before Fred can get unhappy with me typing about his clay pit, let me point out that I do understand that the thinner mix is better for allowing models to submerge, as well as keeps from wearing them out in just one shoot. The change I typed about would make the pit unsuitable for the usual sort of shoot. I'll just need to dig my own.

Well, I got one for you, YerK, and I think it might be thick enough.

In fact, if you get stuck in this late enough in the fall, you won't get out 'til spring.

It actually looks like it has quit snowing here in Little Rock. Oh, but it will be pretty come morning!

Yes it has quit in Little Rock and has moved east to bombard Middle Tennessee with white stuff. We are forecast to get an inch or two for the second time already this winter. Fortunately when I bought a new truck in October I kept the old one which has now become the designated snow truck. This will be gone in a day or two but at least I don't have to worry about dingin' up my vehicle. I'm not at all fond of winter.

There may be no snow coming through south Louisiana this year, as the Saints aren't going to the Super Bowl. The northern part, however, from what I've read, has gotten a little.

Apparently snow isn't the only thing falling from the sky in your neck of the woods. I heard that birds, especially redwinged blackbirds, were dropping like flies for some unknown reason!
