Does look rather solid and weighty, how bad does that monster recoil?

Do you feel lucky Punk, Well do you?

It weighs a little over 5lbs fully loaded, and alot of that weight is in the barrel, so aiming is a bit of an isometric exercise. However, that added weight makes the recoil very managable. I can shoot one handed when I feel the need to show off.
I bought it mostly for the "Holy Shit" factor but I also consider it a down payment on a dream....someday this bad boy's taking a trip to Africa with me and we're bagging us a Cape Buffalo.

Damn, that's a big gun. Is it called a "wheelgun" because you have to mount the dang thing on a limber?

I imagine it's pretty front-heavy, so the the rise shouldn't be as bad. It's still got to pack quite a kick, though.

I'd rather have some General Electric 7.62 mm's, and a C-47 to go with it, if you know what I mean.

This could come in very handy if you are carjacked by a grizzly bear wearing body armor.

The .500 S&W and .50 Beowulf are actually very similar rounds both in size and ballistics performance, the Beo's have a slightly lower peak pressure (about 60,000psi vs 52,000psi) but the longer barrel of your AR makes up for that. Grizzly bears wouldn't even be a challange, you'll get a thru and thru on anything up to and including freaking T-Rex.

Okay, so my old .30-40 Krag only has 40K psi. Still better muzzle velocity and energy than an AK-47 (7.62x39mm) or an 8mm Mauser (8x57mm.) {Data based on Winchester Super-X ammo.}

If I ever decide I need a pistol, and I can afford one, it will be a .50 caliber Desert Eagle. Otherwise it'll probably be a M1911A1 in .45 ACP.
