RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600Mhz 6Gb (3x2Gb Tri-Channel)
Video: EVGA GTX 580 Super Clocked Edition
Hard Drives: (1) Patriot Inferno 60Gb SSD & (1) Western Digital Caviar Black 250Gb HDD (HDD is unfortunately DOA and on it's way back to Newegg )
CD/DVD: Asus something or other
PSU: Corsair AX750 750w Modular
Case: Antec Lanboy (Red)

This one really came out nice. Build went amazingly smooth other then the Dead HDD. The SSD will suffice for now till I get that one replaced. Blazingly fast too--installed Win 7 in about 10 mintues. Guess that SSD works.

Solid state... mmmm... me likey. I'm not usually one for aesthetics when it comes to personal builds, but that's a damn fine looking box.

Neither am I... though I do try to keep my wires as tidy as possible (within reason) for airflow reasons.

I was on the fence about buying that thing for almost a week because of the price, now my only regret is I didn't get a bigger one. Win 7 installed in 20 minutes (10 minutes of that was decompressing the data off the DVD). Boot time is still around 30 seconds, but when that desktop comes up, it's up. Startup programs (AVG, Spybot, Steam etc) are done loading by the time the chime is done playing. I can go from powered down to in game (as in actually playing it) in less then 90 seconds. Makes the Caviar Black seem slower then a constipated turtle by comparison.
As for the case....I came for the cooling solution but stayed for the bling. That video card can hit temps in the low 90's (C) when your pushing it hard. Wanted to make sure I didn't fry the thing after dropping that much cash on it.

Scored 22,800 and change on 3D Mark Vantage. That'll do pig, that'll do.

My thoughts exactly. I've been wanting to order an SSD just to experiment with. You may have pushed me over the edge.

Go for it. You won't be unhappy. The price per GB is still high but the performance is totally worth it imho. Like I said, my only regret is not buying a bigger one--60 Gb will give you room for the OS, startup programs, drivers, a few games, and that's it. I plan on purchasing another one if the deai I'm making for my old system goes through.

Want! Our "good" PC is looking pretty pitiful these days. Just can't seem to get the PC I want down under my $600 price point (including Win7 Pro). Want Win7 pro because I have a bunch of XP era games (Diablo 2, Railroad Tycoon 3, etc.) that won't run on the Vista box. Wondering if I'd do better getting a cheaper version of Win7 and doing some kind of dual-boot thing with WinXP installed on a second HDD?
